The Peerage website says that he is the 16th Laird of Rothiemurchus.
His father was Lieutenant-Colonel John Peter Grant, Laird of Rothiemurchus. His mother is Katherine Grant, 12th Countess of Dysart. He has one sibling, Lady Jane Margery Buxton, born on 2 February 1943. Lord Huntingtower owns the Rothiemurchus estate in the Highlands that is open to the public as an adverture and leisure park. The estate is the site of the Loch-an-Eilean castle (see article about the Clan Shaw) although what remains of this castle is not the present-day main residence, that being the recently-restored \"Doune\" house. The history involves Jacobite attacks and captures .
Family
He is married to Philippa, about whom little is known. It is known that Philippa, Lady Huntingtower is on the Board of Directors for the Maggie's Centres (cancer treatment facilities) .
Children:
Hon. Louisa Katherine Grant of Rothiemurchus (born 1975) who married Charles L. Lindsay in 2006;
Hon. Elizabeth Grant of Rothiemurchus;
Sibling
Lady Jane Margery, married Andrew Robert Fowell Buxton in 1965. This marriage produced issue: Tessa Rose Buxton (born 1966) and Veronica Mary Buxton (born 1970) .;
Famous Cousins
The Grants of Rothiemurchus are related to the painter Duncan Grant who was a grandson of the second Sir John Peter Grant . Another famous relation is Hugh Grant .;
Louisa Grant Lindsay, the eldest daughter of the present Lord Huntingtower, is also his heir presumptive.
Notes
There is a Huntingtower Castle but this person does not own it or reside in it.;
The Lordship of Huntingtower is the Scottish equivalent of an English barony. The Times has referred to Lord Huntingtower's mother in print as Baroness Huntingtower . In Scotland the Lord or Lady who uses this title is never called a Baron or Baroness.;
